Klondike Bar-cade

During the start of the pandemic, with Unilever vowing to not run paid across FB, Twitter, or IG, Klondike needed a new way to reach its audience. Tapping into our consumer’s love of 80s gaming along with the need for entertainment at home during the pandemic, we worked with GIPHY to create a series of online games that could be played on your phone. We continued the series throughout 2020, ending with a holiday giveaway of a 3D-printed bar-cade phone holder and a year's supply of Klondike bars. With no paid support, the campaign was extremely successful with over 160k organic impressions.

We created stickers for each product and uploaded them to GIPHY. Once those were uploaded, we began creating games with them.

Bar-cade for the holidays

We posted a teaser to get people excited for the upcoming holiday giveaway and followed it up with a retro video edit that revealed the phone console that we were giving away. We held the holiday giveaway right around the time of the PS5 launch to gain further interest among gamers and to reach new audiences across our social channels.
